Dr. Umakanthan received his internal medicine and general cardiology training at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA, where he also served as chief medical resident. He completed his coronary and peripheral vascular interventional training at Western Pennsylvania/Allegheny Health System in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Umakanthan is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography. In addition to performing coronary, peripheral vascular, and carotid interventions, he focuses on structural heart procedures, venous interventions, and high-risk coronary interventions.
